The Role
This is a role that lives between revenue operations and yield optimization. You’ll own our placements, SSP UIs, integrations, and reporting accuracy, and become the go-to person for SSP questions across the business.
At its heart, this is a monitor, analyze and escalate role. You watch performance and reporting closely, dig into the numbers to understand why revenue moves, and escalate quickly so issues get fixed before they cost us. With 3+ years in programmatic, you’ll be expected to run this independently from day one — spotting the anomaly, diagnosing the cause, and driving the fix. You’ll report into Revenue Operations and work closely with the Tech team and Publisher Management. It’s a collaborative, cross-functional role with real ownership and visible impact on revenue.
What You'll Take Charge Of
Monitor, Analyze & Escalate (core focus)
The heart of the role: catch issues early, understand the cause, and drive them to resolution.
- Monitor live SSPs daily on revenue, fill rate, and bid rate, and flag underperformers early.
- Compare GAM against the SSP UIs to spot number discrepancies, then investigate and resolve them.
- Investigate revenue drops, analyze the reports, explain the root cause, and act on it.
- Own escalations when an integration breaks or revenue drops, and follow them through to a fix.
- Prepare stats and insights for quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key partners.
- Track and document your work in Jira for full transparency.
Google Ad Manager Optimization & UI
A core pillar of the role: get the most out of GAM as our primary ad server and yield lever.
- Own the GAM setup and day-to-day operation: ad units, key-values, orders, line items, priorities, and inventory settings.
- Optimize GAM configuration for yield — unified pricing rules, price priority, and healthy competition between demand sources.
- Manage yield groups / Open Bidding and how SSPs compete inside GAM.
- Build and maintain GAM reports and queries to track revenue, eCPM, fill, and discrepancies.
- Configure protections, blocking rules, and brand-safety settings in the GAM UI.
- Troubleshoot delivery issues and reconcile GAM against SSP UIs to keep numbers accurate.
Placements & SSP UIs
- Manage placements and SSP UIs day to day: setup, settings, checks, and reporting.
- Be the go-to person for SSP operations and integration questions.
- Manage floor and header bidding settings to keep revenue and fill rate healthy.
- Handle day-to-day SSP operational requests, including blocking domains and geographies and creating new placements.
SSP Onboarding & Integration
- Work with the Demand team to evaluate new SSPs on revenue potential versus effort, and prioritize them.
- Coordinate new SSP integrations: share placement IDs with tech, manage the master ads.txt file, and work with Supply Ops through to go-live.
- Support bidder updates with the tech team.
- Support SSPs on operational tasks such as blocking domains and geos and adding new placements.
- Check new formats for Google policy compliance before launch.
Yield & Monetization
- Drive floor price changes and run yield tests, in partnership with the tech team.
- Analyze DSP data via Adomik and map out missing DSPs.
- Work with the tech team to roll out new ad formats and review performance after launch.
What We're Looking For
Must have
- 3+ years of experience in programmatic revenue operations, yield, or SSP/publisher operations.
- Hands-on experience managing placements, SSP UIs, and Google Ad Manager (GAM).
- A proactive, analytical mindset — comfortable digging into reports to explain revenue changes and quick to escalate.
- Solid working knowledge of header bidding and floor pricing, and how they affect revenue and fill rate.
- Strong attention to detail and a high bar for reporting accuracy.
- Ability to take the lead, take ownership of your work, and drive issues to resolution with a positive, can-do attitude.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Adomik or comparable DSP/demand analytics tools.
- Experience preparing partner-facing stats for QBRs.
- Exposure to CTV and/or display monetization alongside video.
- Working knowledge of ads.txt, Google ad policies, and common integration troubleshooting.
