As a Video Editor, you will join our ShowHeroes Studios team in a temporary position from December through August, covering our Editorial Manager’s paternity leave. Working at the intersection of journalism, storytelling and video production, you will produce editorial video content for our markets and take over day-to-day production. Our Editorial Manager will personally train you before his leave to ensure a smooth handover.

What You'll Take Charge Of

• Producing and editing polished, short-form editorial clips (English-first; mostly for Germany, the UK and the Nordics)
• Researching topics, checking sources and turning them into engaging video stories
• Writing concise scripts adapted to different formats and audiences
• Creating videos of different types for our website and social channels
• Managing projects from initial brief to final delivery, making editorial and creative decisions independently throughout the process
• Working with our stock and licensed footage providers and keeping our video tool stack running

What We're Looking For

• Strong video editing skills and confidence in editing and producing polished video content, regardless of specific software
• A journalistic mindset, with the ability to research topics, identify relevant information and turn it into engaging content
• Scriptwriting skills for creating clear, concise scripts for different formats and audiences
• The ability to assess sources, spot inaccuracies and make informed editorial decisions
• A good eye for composition, typography, pacing and overall visual presentation
• An independent working style, taking ownership of projects and working with limited supervision
• Strong decision-making skills for making creative and editorial decisions independently and efficiently
• Adaptability in switching between topics, formats and types of video content
• Interest in AI tools and implementation of AI-enhanced workflows
• Very good English (written and spoken); German is a plus
• Animation and/or frontend-development basics are a bonus
